STRATA IS A COLLECTION OF 3D-PRINTED HOMES DEFINED BY CONTINUITY, MASS, AND PROCESS. CONCEIVED AS A UNIFIED ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEM, EACH DWELLING IS PRINTED IN SITU AS A MONOLITHIC CONCRETE SHELL, WHERE STRUCTURE, ENCLOSURE, AND SURFACE ARE RESOLVED THROUGH A SINGLE ADDITIVE OPERATION. THE LAYERED LOGIC OF FABRICATION IS LEFT EXPOSED, TRANSFORMING THE ACT OF PRINTING INTO THE PROJECT’S PRIMARY ARCHITECTURAL EXPRESSION.

A SHARED PARAMETRIC FRAMEWORK GENERATES A RANGE OF HOUSE TYPES—SMALL, MEDIUM, AND LARGE—THROUGH CALIBRATED VARIATIONS IN LENGTH, CURVATURE, AND SECTIONAL DEPTH. THICKENED WALLS AND FOLDED ROOF GEOMETRIES INTEGRATE STRUCTURE, SHADING, AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE, WHILE CARVED OPENINGS FRAME LIGHT, LANDSCAPE, AND MOVEMENT.

RATHER THAN ISOLATED OBJECTS, STRATA FORMS A LOW, CONTINUOUS FIELD CONDITION THAT SITS WITHIN THE LANDSCAPE. THE PROJECT POSITIONS LARGE-SCALE 3D PRINTING AS A MATURE CONSTRUCTION METHOD CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SPATIAL RICHNESS, FORMAL PRECISION, AND A NEW TECTONIC LANGUAGE ROOTED IN MATERIAL CONTINUITY AND REPETITION.
