Project Description

The idea for A Frame, is to create an easily build able structure while maintaining a modern and minimal design. Inspiration from wood grains, lighting/shadow, and perspective gives the weekend backpacker an experience that feels as much like home as possible.

The main concepts are derived from feasibility with material, simple construction, and reliability in the physicality. The interior of the A Frame, is geared towards minimalist look and feel while proportionally create a beautiful space. The south facing balcony incorporates fire wood storage area, perfect for the sun to dry the wood out and keeping it out of the elements.

The A Frame, design is meant to keep up with the idea of an A frame construct, but bring it to the 21st century design, making a new icon for the A frame structure.

When built Gables will create a visually appealing space that encourages interaction and a place of gathering. Creating a symbol and icon of community that acknowledges the people of Maquoketa.
